A better scan quality not only makes your card images look more neat and clear, but also makes the recognition results more accurate. So today we would like to share some tips of how to improve the scan quality within CamCard.
1. Place the card close to the camera.
When taking picture of a card, you should place the card close to the camera until it fills up the whole view.
Actually in the current version, there is a notification in the center of the camera page reminding you “move closer to the card” when you are shooting. And the card image will be automatically taken when the card fills up the whole view. So just move the camera to find the most appropriate distance.
2. Ensure sufficient light and avoid reflections and shadows.
Make sure that your cards are captured in the environment with full and even light. For example, you can make full use of daylight because natural lighting is most effective in improving illumination. Furthermore, if it is available, try to use multiple light sources by mixing direct and reflected light.
Take pictures toward the light instead of against the light in order to avoid reflections and shadows.
Turn on the flash when shooting cards in low light.
3. Do not hurry.
Do not hurry when you take pictures. Make sure the camera is in focus when you capture images and avoid shaking.
